How To Be Razzle-Dazzle: Featuring the Cast of Grand Night For Singing!

If you got the chance to see the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre's "Grand Night For Singing" this year, you know what a fabulous show it was, full of singing, dancing, and sparkly evening gowns. But what, you may ask, can humble commoners such as yourselves, take away from an experience like Grand Night? How might you bring the razzle-dazzle of showbiz into your everyday lives? Here are a few tips:

1. Vocal warm-ups

Vocal warm-ups are very important, even if you aren't planning on performing that day. Part of bringing razzle-dazzle into your everyday life is being ready to burst into song at a moment's notice. But how does one warm-up the vocal chords? Well, try making a noise like that of an elk calling across the misty moor to the other woodland creatures. Please see the demonstrative video on my instagram starring the beautiful Susanna White.

2.Set your squad goals high

#squadgoals

Yes, you too can have a squad as fierce as mine. Refuse to be seen with anyone who does not dress exclusively in black (gold sequins notwithstanding) and always have red lipstick on hand. The smolder effect is achieved by saying "prune" just as the picture is taken. Next, focus your collective energy on destroying all those foolish enough to stand in your way.

3. Take lots of dressing room selfies

The trick is to do this before the show, and not during. If you miss your cue because you were taking a selfie, the powers-at-be will (in the words of Susanna White) "smite you off the face of the earth."

4. Find yourself a fairy godmother

Nothing in the world adds razzle-dazzle to your life like a Fairy Godmother.

5. Seek out and unite with your fellow princesses

You can pick them out from amongst the commoners because they wear majestic ball gowns with skirts made of feathers. And remember, the surefire way to prepare yourself for a razzle-dazzle day: always keep glitter in your pockets.
